NRRT Chairman Scott Walker Issues Statement on North Carolina Lawsuit

October 31, 2019

Scott Walker, former Wisconsin Governor and National Republican Redistricting Trust Finance Chairman, issued the following statement on the Fair Lines America Foundation-supported lawsuit filed today in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina aimed at minimizing voter and candidate confusion ahead of the 2020 Elections. The lawsuit names both state legislative leadership and the State Board of Elections as defendants.

“The voters of North Carolina deserve clarity, not confusion, in their elections.  Democrats’ sue until it’s blue strategy has once again needlessly thrown North Carolina elections into a state of chaos.  If congressional districts are redrawn again it would be the third different map used in just the past three elections. This new lawsuit seeks to give voters and candidates certainty heading into the final election cycle of this decade.”
